Our Fireman's Flame couldn't believe how wonderful our mums look around here. She was completely in awe of Mum Mountain at Ott's. Here's a YouTube video that I found that really shows you the beauty of it.
I asked them to hop up on the huge boulders so that I could snap a quick photo. Can you see that little sign on the right of the photo? Well, it was turned around and when we turned it around to read it...you guessed it! It read don't climb on the rocks!!
While the kids were here I made 2 fab pumpkin pies that made the whole house smell wonderful. They were gone in less than 2 days! To think that I'll be making them again in just a few weeks time makes me smile. If anyone wants a quick and easy pie crust recipe that is so flaky and delicious you have to try this...
2 3/4 c flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 c vegetable or canola oil
1/2 c milk
Mix all with a wooden spoon. Roll out between waxed paper. Turn pie plate upside down on the rolled dough and use the waxed paper to help you flip the dough into the pie plate.
We sure are missing these two lovebirds. I sent off a big package of Halloween goodies to them today (including a batch of chocolate cookies).
In case you are wondering I didn't miss Rudolph Day this month it, just happened to be on our media preview day for the Grace Kelly Exhibit. We had the Today Show covering it, along with local TV stations, radio stations and major newspapers, plus People Magazine! The museum is thrilled with all the media coverage so all our hard work on the public relations and advertising paid off.
Now I can take a deep breath, de-stress a bit and focus on my favorite season (fast approaching) Christmas! Woo hoo!
Who's with me?!!
PS - I won't forget about Thanksgiving, it just doesn't require as much planning:)
