It's Labor Day weekend and we don't have too much going on. Mr OP went fishing yesterday morning while I went to the market. When I got home I boiled everything I needed to make potato salad, peeled corn on the cob, prepared my crab cakes and made a cheese pie. The only thing that I had to do at supper time was pan fry the crab cakes. I made the potato salad after supper - it's for today.
The temps these day have turned back to summer weather and the humidity is back too - yuck! I am soo ready for the cool mornings and evenings of fall weather. Schools all around us have started already, but our district doesn't start until Tuesday. I think that it's one of only a handful of schools that do it this way anymore.
We never went until after Labor Day, I think that starting before cuts too much into summer. What happens in you area? How was it when you were growing up?
Friday night I started on a few Halloween cards. It was fun to get out the fall colors and spooky things and just create.
I'm hoping that we get to do a bit of junquing tomorrow. Perkiomenville Sale is open on Mondays, so maybe we'll head up there. It would have to be in the morning because I don't want to be in the heat.
Our Fireman starts paramedic school on Tuesday. It's an accelerated program and he'll continue to work full time, so prayers would be appreciated. I worry so much and not being there to see how he's coping really gets to me.
We're doing steaks on the grill tonight with that potato salad that I made yesterday, plus some fresh sliced tomatoes. What are you having?
