No, I am not the first person in our neighborhood to hang a fall wreath on their front door. Mrs. Diehl hung hers up on Sunday. She's usually the first person to decorate the change in seasons. I love to watch her work. She takes such pride in her home and gardens. She's up and working outside early in the mornings, along with having her wash line full of fresh washed clothes and/or linens.
Mrs. Diehl retired a few years ago, I'd say that she is in her mid 70's, and is still going strong. She mows her own grass with a push mower and mulches and weeds her own gardens - they are beautiful! I've known her since I was a kid (remember that Mr OP and I live on the same street that we grew up on). She's actually my MIL's next door neighbor and Mum to a guy that I went through school with.
The weather is supposed to cool off again this week - hooray! I get too cranky when it's hot and humid. I'm serious, Mr OP can tell you just how cranky. I hate to do anything when the weather is oppressive and sometimes I give in and just don't do anything.
So tell me, how does a three day weekend go by so fast? I get another one next weekend. My birthday is on Saturday and we get our birthday's off from work so I'm taking next Monday as my birthday holiday! Yipee!!! My Mum and I are headed to Lancaster County for our annual trip, I can't wait!
I decided to add fall touches here and there as I feel like it instead of making it my mission to change everything over at once. At least that's my plan right now. I'll probably feel more energized when the weather changes and cools down again. We got some pretty good thunderstorms last night, that are helping to cool things off.
So how's the weather in your neck of the woods? Are you getting glimpses of fall like temps?
Have a sunshine-y week my friends!
