Good morning everyone! What a beautiful Sunday morning! It's only 58 degrees this morning and I am loving it. We have every window in the house open and it feels wonderful! Perfect for doing a little baking and making some stew. Mornings like these make me feel so invigorated. I've got a Martha Stewart holidays DVD playing, it's getting me soo in the mood for the holidays.
Recently, I found another vintage tree topper to add to my collection. I've become more selective when buying them since I have so many now. I love the ones with indents and the not so typical colors.
I loose one every few years - just because they are soo fragile. If someone wouldn't deem me off my rocker I'd keep these up all year long. They just make me smile.
We, or should I say I celebrate Rudolph Day every month here at The Old Parsonage. I heard the term "Keeper of Christmas" from Vee and thought - yep that's me! Rudolph Day is the 25th of each month, it's a day to plan, organize or just do something Christmas-y. It helps to make the holidays less stressful for me.
I've been looking at my Christmas Magic planner and taking stock of to do's and things for the upcoming months. September is a busy month for birthdays - we have 6, plus we'll do Applesauce Sunday. We've got our Fireman and his Flame coming home in October, plus two birthdays to celebrate, our 28th anniversary, Pumpkin Palooza and Halloween. November is another 3 birthdays and Thanksgiving.
See why I like to plan and prepare ahead of time? I don't short change any of the the other holidays or seasons, it's just that Christmas takes a front row seat. I love to decorate the entire house, make handmade Christmas cards, bake, bake and bake, shop and give gifts, cut down the perfect Christmas tree and celebrate the birth of our Lord! What's not to love?!
I also refilled our candy dish this morning with some "Christmas breath." I do love these soft peppermint pillows! Well my friends, I'm off to do something Christmas-y!
Happy Rudolph Day!
