I've been seeing and reading all over blogland posts related to fall - fabulous fall! My most favorite season is on it's way. School will soon be back in session around here - hearing the high school band practicing every night lets me know that it'll be here before we know it.
I am sometimes afraid to talk about looking forward to the end of summer -people look at you like you have 2 heads. But I truly love the cool crisp days and early evenings.
I'm looking forward to the over abundance of apples during apple season and the homemade goodies that come with it. We always do applesauce Sunday and along with applesauce, we make about 4 Jewish Apple Cakes that day, giving them away to family and friends.
The kitchen smells so good in the fall. I've always got something baking or simmering away on the stove top. Soups and chili will be meals of choice this fall! It's so easy to make a huge pot of something yummy and giveaway or freeze it for additional meals.
Don't forget, this Sunday is Rudolph Day. Click on the link if you'd like to read more about a fantastic way to plan for a stress free holiday season. I'm going to plan my Christmas cards and order the supplies to get started.
I may make one of our favorite Christmas Cookie recipes to celebrate the day - it's not supposed to be too hot, plus it will be a fun treat for Mr. OP. Of course I'm going to take stock of the small gifts that I've bought all year, the gift closet is looking good, so now it's time to organize it.
Aren't these hydrangeas beautiful? Our neighbor Sherrie has two huge bushes that are in desperate need of a good trim and they are hanging over our side of the picket fence. Last Saturday I decided to do a little trimming on our side, it gave our smaller knockout roses some much needed light and a beautiful bouquet for the dining room!
Okay, so now that I've mentioned it, is anyone else looking forward to fall?
