Wednesday Ramblings

It's supposed to get into the 60's today! Yeah - the monster in the basement won't be doing much rumbling today! I usually turn the thermostat down to 60 during the day while we're at work then it goes back up to 65 when we get home at night. It goes backdown to 63 while we're sleeping because it gets soo warm upstairs.

Along with the warmer temps we're supposed to get some thunder storms. They say that we may get some flooding because the ground is so frozen and it won't absorb all the water. I sure hope not.

My brother gave us a gift certificate to the movies that we may use this weekend. Although, I'd rather wait until "Beautiful Creatures" comes out next month. That movie looks right up my alley!

My "new" old typewriter looks right at home in the dining room on the buffet. I got this one in Epherta at an antique mall over Christmas vacation. Mr OP said, "That's the third one that you've brought home this year!" The first one I cut all the keys off of it for crafting. The second one is in my studio and I use it to type things for paper crafting. I've decided use this one for decorating.

I just tucked a few vintage Valentine's and photos into it and wa-la! Instant romance! At least I think so, Mr OP didn't comment:)

Do people get your "style?"

wow to cut the keys off a typewriter, never thought of that. I could see the value in it with your crafting. Hope your storms are gentle.

OHHHH, did you read the first "Beautiful Creatures" book????? I did, because when my Granddaughter was telling me of the coming film, I remembered the heroine's necklace of memories.

So I got the 2nd book, but couldn't keep at it. Guess I was just not in the mood for a long and deep and dark book, then. I'm into light and kind of silly right now. :-)

Also got the 2nd in another cool series out, and had to take it back. Perhaps it's just the time or mood I am in. :-) No need trying to read something, when it isn't making you happy. :-)

I take it,from the film promos, that they are doing the whole series, in one film..........

Rarely (do they get my style). I can remember my mother-in-law saying that it was too bad I had so much old stuff hanging about. ☺

The Valentines tucked into the vintage typewriter look perfect.

Enjoyed your post, Leann. Love the old typewriter with the Valentines.

Some people get my "style" in home decorating and some don't.

Most importantly, I love decorating with thrifted items and have fun. Susan

I like the idea of using the typewriter as a display.
Storms last night and the temps have dropped all day.

Cutting off the keys...just thinking of how to do it makes my hands hurt, but what great idea for crafting!
Do people get my style? Mister knows better than to say something...he is very tolerant!
My sister has very different taste that runs to very neutral and she just doesn't say anything. She is very gracious!

I love that you buy them and cut the keys off! I'm like that with Scrabble games -- we have the ones we never mess with -- those are "in use." And the rest? Free game for creative fun!
