Lazay-Lay Bon-Tom Roulay - Let the good times roll! Chuck and Kristen went to New Orleans back in October and Kristen bought all of us this wonderful Cafe Du Monde for Christmas. It's a blend of coffee and chicory. Has anyone else ever had it?
Can you believe that I only took (3) photos on Christmas day? This is my Mum, she's opening a photo of Flybooy and Little Bride to Be. It's one from their engagement photo shoot.
I guess that this one is self-explanatory. We didn't do too many presents this year. Why buy things that someone doesn't really need? We've been trying to concentrate on celebrating the things that matter in our lives.
And, these two lovebirds are some of the things that I celebrate and thank God for daily.
The winds were terrible last night - 40mph+. I was worried about the outdoor decorations, but everything seemed to fair well. We will leave our tree and decorations up until the Epiphany - January 6th. I love how warm and cozy the decorations make it feel and the house looks so bare when they are down.Yes, we have a fresh tree, and no the needles are dropping yet. I think that cutting down our own tree makes a huge difference with how long it stays fresh. Remember, we cut it down right after Thanksgiving.
Have you started to put away Christmas yet?
Be sure to enter our giveaway here to be entered to win a copy of Chicken Soup for the Soul's "The Gift of Christmas." We're giving away two copies - giveaway ends at midnight tonight. We'll announce the winners on Friday!

Leann,
You took more pictures on Christmas than I did - I forgot my camera!
We are still enjoying Christmas here, too. Our needles drop all season from the artificial tree. It is a very nice tree, but pre-lit, so some lights are always going out, and I do find needles year round!
Decorations still up here also because out main get together is still to come. Have a great day.
Heavens no! This is why I have a fake tree. I love the lights. They make the darkest days of the year bearable. So Merry On until Epiphany at least. ☺
I do know those, as I'm sure you do as well, you can't stand Christmas for one more day after it's gone by. I see the evidence all over town. It makes me a little sad because they could Merry On as well, if only they would allow themselves that joy.
Your Christmas looks lovely. Your mother is such a pretty lady! The happy couple is so cute. And where are you and your beloved? Like me and mine...behind the lens!
Oh all that and I forgot to answer your question. No, I've not had chickory coffee for years and I never was a fan...the blend is what must make it nice.
Only 3 pics, but they are lovely. Again, your home is so warm and welcoming looking. :-)
I never tried that coffee but my mom did, and she had said it was a little bitter from the chickory? I don't know, but I like your idea of less is more. And leaving the tree til the Epiphany. Not everyone believes in that, guess it is a religious thing. I love it. ;-) xo
Such sweet pictures for only 3! Simple holidays would be awesome!
Hi LeeAnn, I'm back to my blogs now and have really missed everyone. WOW an upcoming wedding. I can't wait to catch up on you and all your comings and goings. And yes, we too keep our tree and decorations up until Epiphany...I love celebrating Advent and then beginning with Christmas the twelve days of Christmas and then after Epiphany, the beginning of mardi gras and Lent and all of this of course is widely celebrated here in Louisiana. I hope you had a Merry Christmas. Hugs friend, Mollye
Hi Leann....Decided to leave all decorations up til January 6. Glad your holiday was wonderful. Susan
So that's what that means! You know, sometimes you don't need a zillion pix. You need three good ones -- and that's what you got! It does look fun!
'My decorations will stay up a long while. Partly because there are so many and partly because I love them!
